In February 2024, Assos brings the S11 generation to market. The biggest product update since the S9 series initially targets the Racing Series — the [**Equipe RS Schtradivari Bib Shorts**](https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/clothing/road-cycling-shorts/jersey-and-bib-shorts/assos-equipe-rs-schtradivari-bib-shorts-s11) and the [**Equipe RS Jersey**](https://www.cyclingnews.com/reviews/assos-equipe-rs-s11-jersey/).

## New Fabric, New Cut

The centerpiece is **Type.911**, a new warp-knit fabric replacing the predecessor Type.441 from the S9 Targa. Smoother feel, better abrasion resistance, deeper black retention — those were the goals. But the real gain is in the cut: the new material allows fewer seams, less bunching, and a more precise fit at the legs and waist.

The consequence: the **rollBar** — the brace system that defined the S9 — is gone from the RS S11. Type.911 is elastic and compressive enough to work without the additional stabilization. Less material, less weight, same support.

## The Chamois

The RS S11 insert is three-layered, 9 mm thick. The surface is softer than its predecessor and more wash-resistant. Add improved odor control. The Golden Gate construction — the floating chamois Assos is known for — stays, of course.

## The Jersey

The **Equipe RS Jersey S11** is lighter and more aerodynamic than its predecessor, with the same breathability. The sleeves use a new fabric that weighs less but delivers the same compression. The main body uses miniCheck Tex — open 3D knit structure, UPF 25, the typical Assos texture.

## Price and Assessment

The Equipe RS Schtradivari S11 costs [360 USD / 290 EUR](https://cyclingmagazine.ca/sections/gear-reviews/how-to-choose-between-assoss-top-end-road-bib-shorts/). That’s WorldTour level, in price and technology. If you don’t need the RS level, you can wait for the Equipe R — which typically adopts RS technologies with a slight delay at a more accessible price.

The S11 generation will roll out gradually across all lines. The Mille GT won’t arrive until 2026. If you jump in now, you’re getting the best Assos has ever built for racing.
