# Enervit and Lidl-Trek — When the Nutrition Partner Helps Develop the Product

> Enervit has been supplying Lidl-Trek since 2020. What makes it special: the riders and coaches are actively involved in developing the products. The team and manufacturer meet before each season to provide feedback.

In 2020, Enervit became the official nutrition partner of [**Trek-Segafredo**](https://racing.trekbikes.com/stories/lidl-trek/trek-segafredo-announces-exciting-new-partnership-with-enervit) — for three years, with an option to extend. When Lidl joined as title sponsor in 2023 and the team became Lidl-Trek, the partnership continued seamlessly. Since then, Enervit has supplied both the men's and women's WorldTour teams.

Before each season, Enervit representatives sit down with the team staff: sports directors, support staff, riders. Specific [feedback](https://racing.trekbikes.com/stories/lidl-trek-women/how-trek-segafredo-made-nutrition-responsive-to-riders) is collected. What worked, what didn't, what was missing. This feedback flows directly into product development.

This is only possible because Enervit produces its own products. The two plants are both located near Lake Como: the older one in Zelbio, in operation since 1973, and the newer one in Erba, since 2015. Manufacturing in your own factories means you can adapt small batches quickly — different osmolality, adapted flavour profiles, changed carbohydrate content. A contract manufacturer needs months; Enervit delivers within one season.

The result of these feedback loops is concrete: the C2:1PRO product line arose directly from the collaboration with Lidl-Trek and UAE Team Emirates. Two WorldTour teams testing under different conditions — different climate zones, racing disciplines, body weights — provide a database that no laboratory setting can replicate.

The 2:1 ratio of maltodextrin to fructose on which C2:1PRO is based is now [well established](https://www.cyclist.co.uk/sponsored/enervit-nutrition-cycling). But the implementation — what consistency does a gel hold at 35 degrees on the Giro cobblestones, how does a bar taste after six hours of racing. You can only learn this in the field. Lidl-Trek provides exactly this field.

For us as a store, that makes a difference. When we recommend Enervit products, we don't recommend laboratory products, but products that WorldTour riders have helped to shape over several seasons.
