## DMT KR0 Grau – ultralight road shoe with 3D Knit and BOA Li2

The DMT KR0 in Grau is a top-level road shoe designed for maximum efficiency and high wearing comfort on long Swiss rides. The fully **3D-knitted** upper construction adapts to the foot while remaining dimensionally stable, and two **BOA Li2** dials provide precise, independent adjustment across forefoot and instep. The extremely stiff, ventilated **Carbon SL outsole** delivers direct power transfer and noticeable fresh air inside the shoe. Developed and tested with WorldTour pros like **Elia Viviani**, the KR0 combines low weight with high everyday usability for training and racing. The cleat mount in the 3‑hole standard and 8 mm adjustment range make exact positioning easy for Look Keo, Shimano SPD‑SL or Time.

- Fully **Engineered 3D Knit** upper material with zoned structure for support and breathability.
- Two **BOA Li2** dials for micro-fine, bilateral adjustment and a low profile.
- Stiff, ventilated **Carbon SL** sole with large mesh openings for efficient cooling.
- 3‑hole cleat mount (Look/Time/Shimano) with 8 mm fore/aft adjustment and Look Memory function.
- Very low weight: in tests approx. 454–512 g/pair depending on size, noticeably light on the foot.

## Technical Details and Functions

The seamless **3D Knit** construction varies material thickness and knit pattern by zone, which reduces pressure points and securely guides the foot. Through integrated guide loops the **BOA Li2** system tensions evenly, can be released or retightened finely, and remains easy to operate under overshoes thanks to its low-profile design. The anatomically shaped **Carbon SL** sole offers generous ventilation openings under the toe and arch areas as well as a continuous rim for stability during high pedaling loads. A heel-integrated pad with **silicone nubs** minimizes heel lift and improves fit during high cadence changes. For mounting there is an 8 mm adjustment range and markings for quick, reproducible cleat positioning, including compatibility with the Look **Memory** system.

## Applications and Advantages

The KR0 shows its strengths on fast training rides, mountain passes and races when **direct power transfer** and ventilation are required. The very airy upper construction makes it ideal for warm summer conditions as well as indoor sessions on the trainer, where breathability significantly increases comfort. At the same time the shoe remains responsive thanks to the stiff carbon sole when sprinting or on steep pitches, without compromising long-distance comfort. The lightweight feel on the foot contributes to a natural pedal stroke, which is pleasantly noticeable on long tours around Lake Zurich, the Swiss Plateau or alpine passes. In cooler or wet phases **overshoes** are recommended to make the high ventilation weatherproof.

## Fit, Weight, and Cleat Tips

The last tends to run **narrow and rather long**; many riders report a particularly enveloping, sock-like fit. Depending on foot profile a **fitting** can be useful; some prefer half a size smaller than usual to achieve a performance-precise fit. Independent measurements show pair weights in the range of about 454 g (EU 43) to just over 500 g (EU 45), which places the KR0 among the **lighter** performance road shoes. For the cleats it is advisable, thanks to the 8 mm adjustment reserve, to establish the individual comfort position while off the bike and then fine-tune on the road; the Look **Memory** system makes later cleat swaps easier. On first wear the one-piece knit construction can feel a little tight, but it gives slightly and then conforms cleanly to the foot.

## Care and Durability in Everyday Use

For cleaning, lukewarm water with a mild soap and a soft cloth is usually sufficient; aggressive solvents or stiff brushes should be avoided. The quick-drying **3D Knit** can be aired out quickly after wet rides, ideally away from direct heat sources. The sole benefits from careful handling when walking, as the stiff carbon construction is optimized for **on-bike performance**. Many test reports praise the durable workmanship of the upper material, which resists abrasion and dirt well and is easy to clean. That way the KR0 in the grey finish remains attractive and functional even after intensive weeks of training or commuting.
