Assos has refreshed its 2022 winter collection. No revolution — more the Swiss way of making things better without throwing everything out.
What’s Changing
The Ultraz Winter Jacket and the Winter Jacket come in new colorways. Technically, the proven construction remains: stormproof front, breathable back panel. If you know the jackets, you know what you’re getting. If you don’t: these are the jackets that still make 2°C enjoyable.
The Winter Bib Tights have been updated. The RX EVO Plus insulation retains heat better, and the C2 chamois got 2 mm more padding. On a four-hour December ride, you’ll feel it.
For women, the Dyora RS Winter Collection brings the most technical softshell Assos has ever built. The sleeves use a material called “Warp-Knit 3L ZigZaggy Foam” — the name takes getting used to, the function doesn’t. The fabric is windproof and more durable than conventional laminations because the threads run in zigzag paths instead of straight rows.
Speed Club 2022
Alongside, the Equipe RS Jersey S9 Targa — Speed Club 2022 drops as a limited edition. Multicolor design, race fit, available while stocks last. The Speed Club is Assos’ annual limited edition for the community — miss it and you wait a year.
Assessment
No new technology generation, but a solid update for everyone who rides outside in winter instead of sitting on a trainer. The Dyora RS winter jacket is the highlight — finally a women’s jacket that isn’t simply a shrunk-down men’s jacket.
