After Pogačar's World Championship victory in Zurich, Pissei is faced with a task that few clothing brands get: designing a rainbow jersey. The most iconic stripes in cycling on the jersey of the best rider in the world — made in Pistoia, in the same Custom Lab that sewed the first UAE prototypes two years ago.
The design
The rainbow jersey remains on a white background — in keeping with the UAE Team Emirates aesthetic. The rainbow stripes run over the sleeves and optionally over the leg warmers of the bib shorts. The integration is careful: no glued-on tape, but color gradients incorporated into the panel construction that do not disrupt the overall look.
The collection includes more than just the jersey: short and long-sleeved versions, road racing skinsuits, technical bib shorts, wind vests, gloves, socks and caps. A complete world champion kit.
Replica vs. Race
Pissei offers two versions: the Magistrale Official — identical to the jersey worn by Pogačar in the race — and the Replica in a slightly more relaxed fit. Both are made in Italy, both in the Custom Lab. The difference lies in the cut, not the materials.
For fans, the replica version is access to a jersey sewn with the same fabrics and care as the original.
Assessment
Producing a rainbow jersey is both a prestige and a responsibility. It is the most photographed jersey in the peloton — every seam, every color transition will be under the microscope of the public. For Pissei, it is the ultimate proof that the Pistoia-based manufacturer can hold its own on the biggest stage.
