Anyone starting a major cycling marathon in Switzerland is very likely to come across Winforce at the refreshment station. This is no coincidence: the sports nutrition brand from Baar has systematically bought its way into the Swiss cycling marathon calendar over the last 17 years — not with a large advertising budget, but in the places that count. At the pass. At the refreshments. At kilometer 80.
TORTOUR: The beginning, 2009
The oldest of these partnerships has been running since 2009. The TORTOUR is no ordinary cycle race: 1,000 km non-stop, two days, several Alpine passes. Anyone who takes part is riding to the absolute limit of what is possible. Winforce is there right from the start — and provides exactly the kind of nutrition that was developed for such exertion. Ultracycling is not a marketing term for the brand, but the toughest test there is.
Alpenbrevet and Engadin: Breadth across the board
Winforce has also been involved in the Swiss Cycling Alpenbrevet since 2021. The Alpenbrevet leads over Furka and Gotthard — the Tremola ramp on the old cobbled road is one of the most iconic pass descents in Switzerland. Depending on the route (Silver, Gold or Platinum Tour), participants collect several thousand meters of altitude in one day.
Winforce goes one step further in the Engadin Cycle Marathon, where the brand is the presenting sponsor. La Cuorta (97 km) and La Svizra (117 km) lead over the Flüela Pass and Albula Pass through the Engadin. Carbo Basic Plus, Hydro Energy, Panforte and Ultra Energy Complex are available at the refreshment stations — these are not advertising agreements on paper, but products that the participants actually hold in their hands when the tank runs out.
Cyclotour du Léman: Across the language divide
Winforce has also been a partner of the Cyclotour du Léman since 2021. 176 km around Lake Geneva, through the vineyards of the Lavaux region — an event that combines Swiss-German cycling culture with French-speaking Switzerland. Here too: Winforce at the refreshments, not on the advertising banner.
A pattern, not a coincidence
Anyone looking at the four partnerships will recognize the logic behind them. Winforce does not choose mass events for running shoes and wearables, but cycling marathons with an Alpine character — races where nutrition decides whether you finish or give up. Since 2009, via ultracycling and gran fondo, German- and French-speaking Switzerland: the brand from Baar is where it counts — at the pass, when the tank runs dry.
