This MTB liner for women is designed as a first layer under loose trail shorts and combines light support, noticeable comfort and optional hip impact protection. The centerpiece is the OFF-ROAD Insert with 8 mm memory foam, whose female-specific cut specifically supports the more upright Mountainbike riding position. The ultrasoft, knitted Aerofit material with integrated odorControl technology provides high breathability and a dry wearing feeling, even when things heat up on the trail. Removable impactPads made of 8 mm viscoelastic PU protect the hips on tricky sections, while outward-facing seams noticeably reduce chafing.

Technical details and functions

The liner uses the knitted Aerofit textile, which stays pleasantly airy thanks to its open knit structure and high elasticity and reduces odor formation. The OFF-ROAD Insert is female-specifically shaped and works with the goldenGate construction, where the side seams are interrupted so the pad can move freely. The three-layer, perforated 3D waffle foam increases breathability and reduces weight without compromising on cushioning. For additional protection, the impactPads at the hips can be installed or removed depending on the ride, and the outward-turned main seams minimize skin chafing on long days. The fit follows natural movements on and off the saddle, fits close to the body and yet remains free in movement.

Fit and pairing tips

The high, V-shaped waistband provides stable, comfortable support while riding and matches the height of the corresponding TRAIL Women’s Cargo Shorts. The sporty-tight cut ensures good support but remains elastic enough to adapt to dynamic trail movements. Independent tests praise the clean workmanship and low-friction seams; depending on body shape, however, the waistband can fit rather snugly — trying them on or comparing with your usual ASSOS size is advisable. As a modular approach, insert the impactPads for technical rides and simply remove them for flowy after-work rounds.
