The Ultraz Winter Gloves P1 from Assos are designed for harsh Swiss winter days on the bike and combine extreme insulation with windproof and water-repellent protection. The redesigned Lobster-Glove construction bundles three fingers in a protective outer shell, while inside, each finger has its own channel that stores warmth and maintains dexterity. Thanks to touchscreen compatibility, you can operate your head unit or smartphone even in cold conditions without taking off the gloves. A low-seam inner construction designed for thermoregulation and a grippy palm round out the package for winter rides around Lake Zurich, in the Mittelland, or on Alpine passes.

Technical Details and Features

The Ultraz Winter Gloves P1 use a two-layer textile combination: The outer and base layers each consist of 100% polyester, supporting the mix of protection and breathability. For the touch zones, an insert made of 50% polyamide / 50% polyurethane is used; the thumb insert consists of 65% rubber / 35% polyester for soft wiping and additional durability. Inside, an ultra-soft finger lining per finger provides additional insulation and minimizes cold bridges. The inner, nearly seamless construction reduces pressure points at the fingertips and improves handlebar feel during long winter rides. Compared to the regular Winter Gloves P1, the outer material and lining are even more protective, while grip structure and padding layout deliberately remain identical so the feel doesn't change throughout the season.

Applications and Benefits

These gloves are ideal for winter training, urban commuting, and long base rides when the Bise wind blows or drizzle and spray come into play. The Lobster-Glove layout maximizes thermal performance without sacrificing the operability of shifting and braking, and the low profile slides cleanly under jacket sleeves. The water-repellent exterior reliably keeps sleet at bay, while the breathable construction controls moisture from the inside. Independent tests of the Ultraz platform also emphasize the combination of low volume, good water repellency, and high finger dexterity, which is particularly noticeable on long winter tours. Fit and Variants

The fit is designed for a slim silhouette so you don't have annoying transitions at the sleeve even with thicker winter jackets. The long cuff overlaps the jacket, while the low volume maintains a comfortable grip feel on the handlebars and makes putting on and taking off easier. The available size range from XS to 2XL covers most hand shapes; we recommend following the Assos size guide and sticking to your usual cycling glove size.
