The KASK Elemento is a performance road helmet for racing bikes, gravel and cyclocross that combines aerodynamics, ventilation and safety in a sleek package. Developed in collaboration with WorldTour team INEOS Grenadiers, it uses new materials and optimized airflow for long climbs, fast flat sections and changing Swiss conditions. Core technologies include Fluid Carbon 12 and Multipod, which improve energy distribution during impacts while allowing larger internal channels for cooling. The helmet meets EN 1078 standards and passes the company's proprietary WG11 rotational impact test; sizes range from S (50–56 cm) through M (52–58 cm) to L (59–62 cm), with weight around 260g in size M. The merino wool inner padding and OCTOFIT+ adjustment system provide noticeable comfort and secure fit on Swiss roads and Alpine passes.

Technical Details and Features

The heart of the Elemento is the Fluid Carbon 12 composite material, which absorbs more impact energy compared to conventional EPS and distributes forces more evenly across the helmet shell. This allowed the front openings to be smaller without compromising ventilation performance, as the internal channels are significantly larger. This is complemented by Multipod, a 3D-printed, isotropic padding structure that responds equally to linear and rotational impacts and reduces shear forces between head and helmet. OCTOFIT+ handles the fit: the rubberized dial offers precise grip, the vertical stabilizer increases stability and the neck area fits ergonomically. The package is rounded out by merino wool at contact surfaces and a glossy outer shell that looks robust and is easy to clean.

The combination of aerodynamic exterior shape and generous internal channels keeps your head cool without creating unnecessary noise or turbulence. Testers highlight the high-quality construction and secure fit; occasionally it's noted that there's no dedicated sunglasses port at the front – but glasses can be stably stored at the rear. For riders who don't want MIPS, the Elemento is an interesting alternative with WG11-tested rotational protection and noticeably efficient ventilation on long Swiss summer stages.

Fit, Safety and Current Reviews

The size coverage from S to L covers head circumferences from 50 to 62 cm; the OCTOFIT+ system allows fine micro-adjustments that work well even with gloves. For head shapes that need a bit more space at the back of the head, the revised stabilizer offers additional support and room for longer hair. In independent safety tests, the Elemento initially received an excellent Virginia Tech rating; since the star threshold updates in July/August 2025, the score is 11.90 and the helmet is accordingly listed as a 4-star model – still in the recommended category. This change affects many helmets on the market and reflects a raised bar, not a deterioration of the product. In practice, this means: a high-performance, recommendable road helmet with clear safety and performance focus.

Care and Practical Tips

To keep the helmet fresh long-term, we recommend brief airing out after each ride and occasional washing of the merino pads with mild detergent. During rain or sweaty phases, a thin skull cap helps; in cold weather the helmet can be combined with a winter cap without pushing the adjustment to its limits. Check the fit of the OCTOFIT+ system and integrity of the padding regularly, especially after intense races or long summer rides. Always replace the helmet after a crash and generally avoid exposing it to prolonged heat (e.g. in a car) to preserve the materials.
