The ASSOS DYORA RS Winter Jacket is a highly technical softshell for ambitious female riders who don’t want to give up speed even in winter conditions. The jacket combines a wind- and waterproof SPHERE Light outer material with a brushed OSMOS Light lining and fits like a second skin in an aerodynamic raceFit cut. Integrated Diffusor vents in the shoulder area regulate airflow so your microclimate stays stable even during long intervals. According to the manufacturer, this is the most functional and lightest winter softshell the brand has produced so far, developed for multi-hour training rides in cold and wet conditions.

Technical Details and Features

The front and upper back panels are made from SPHERE Light (3‑layer, wind- and waterproof), internally complemented by OSMOS Light, creating an insulating air layer while allowing moisture to escape efficiently. On the lower back ASSOS uses OSMOS Heavy, the warmest brushed material in the series, which provides extra protection against cold and spray. The sleeves use a knitted, three-layer ZigZaggy Foam that reliably blocks wind while remaining pleasantly close-fitting. Structurally, the twinDeck layer forms a sort of buffer zone against the cold, while the Diffusor openings at the shoulders channel fresh air between the layers to prevent overheating. The system is rounded off by a sealed Double‑Slider Zipper and easily accessible Triple Ramp rear pockets with color-coded markings and a micro-perforated tape for improved visibility. Material composition according to the manufacturer: 41% polyamide, 24% polyester, 21% elastane, 14% polypropylene.

Use Cases and Advantages

This jacket is made for intense road sessions in the cold season – from frosty morning rides on the Swiss Plateau to long base-training days on Alpine passes. Thanks to the close raceFit cut it works optimally with a Winter-Base Layer and a snug bib short, without adding bulk or flapping. Ventilation via the Diffusor shoulders is especially helpful during intervals or climbs when you briefly produce a lot of heat despite sub-zero temperatures. At the same time, the 3‑layer construction reliably blocks wind and drizzle, which provides noticeably more comfort in the bise or on wet roads in Switzerland. The character is sporty and snug; if you’re between sizes or plan to wear more layers, check the size chart carefully, as the model runs rather slim.

Further notes: the raceFit cut is optimized for an active riding position and can feel a bit tight when standing – on the bike it adapts very naturally. For maximum performance we recommend functional Baselayer and, if needed, light Midlayer, so the breathability of the twinDeck construction can be fully effective. The jacket stays low-maintenance if you rinse it promptly with lukewarm water after salty winter rides and wash it according to the manufacturer’s instructions; this also helps preserve the wind- and water-repellent properties longer. Combined with suitable winter accessories like gloves and socks, the setup works just as well for Zurich commuting routes as it does for hard training in the Pre-Alps.
