The Assos UMA GTV Rain Jacket S11 is a midweight rain jacket for cycling focused on long distances and touring – ideal for our changeable Swiss weather. Its new Lightning 2L main fabric provides a permanently waterproof barrier and, thanks to high elasticity, can easily be pulled over jerseys and even warmer winter jackets. Bonded and welded finishes as well as a glove-friendly zipper with a cover strip prevent weak points in weather protection. Under the arms, the NACA Tec construction provides additional ventilation without compromising the seal. Reflective details on the back increase visibility at dusk and in fog – from Zurich's Uetliberg to alpine passes.

The new Lightning 2L textile combines a permanently waterproof membrane with a soft circular-knit inner face that provides light insulation and feels comfortable against the skin. Because the barrier is permanently water-repellent, it doesn't require an additional DWR finish; the 2-layer construction also prevents an outer fabric from soaking up water and becoming heavy. Under the arms, Type.OF11 with DWR-treated breathability is used, which keeps the microclimate stable during intense intervals. The regular, aerodynamically slim regularFit is designed to sit without flapping over different layers. The construction with bonded seams and a covered zipper closes potential entry points for rain while the NACA Tec openings allow air to circulate. The fact that more and more brands are reducing or replacing DWR chemistry fits the solution chosen here with a permanent water barrier – an approach that can reduce maintenance.
