BE THE CHANGE CellProtect+

CellProtect+ combines three specifically coordinated active ingredients: Colostrum, Lactoferrin and Astaxanthin from Swiss production. The colostrum comes from the first 24 hours, is gently defatted and decaseinated and provides a high proportion of immunoglobulins (IgG); the current average content is 74.1% (as of 11/2025). Manufactured in St. Gallen according to Swissness regulations as well as GMP and HACCP standards; the formula is free from artificial additives and preservatives and lactose-free. For optimal bioavailability, BE THE CHANGE uses gastric acid-resistant, vegan HPMC capsules with gellan and light-protective Miron glass.

Technical Details and Functions

The daily portion of two capsules provides 300 mg Lactoferrin, at least 200 mg IgG from Swiss colostrum as well as 4 mg Astaxanthin; energy content 14 kJ or 3 kcal. The raw materials are processed using multi-stage cold filtration below 40°C to preserve bioactive components, which is described in specialist literature as essential for the bioactivity of colostrum. The capsules consist of plant-based HPMC with the gelling agent Gellan and are specifically gastric acid-resistant, so that the sensitive ingredients reach the intestine intact. Production takes place in an independent Swiss facility with complete traceability, tested according to GMP and HACCP standards. Light-proof Miron glass additionally protects against quality loss from UV radiation.

Applications and Benefits

For cyclists who experience high loads and oxidative stress during training, tours or competition, CellProtect+ combines immune and cell protection in an everyday dosage. Astaxanthin acts as a powerful membrane-active antioxidant and is linked in studies to the protection of mitochondrial functions, which is particularly interesting for endurance activities. Lactoferrin is an iron-binding glycoprotein with antimicrobial and antioxidative properties; systematic reviews emphasise however that clinical evidence varies depending on the research question and further high-quality studies are needed. Colostrum provides natural antibodies and bioactive peptides; current review papers highlight potential for mucosal and barrier functions, but also point to product- and process-dependent differences. The consumption recommendation is 2 capsules daily, ideally in the morning on an empty stomach; hot drinks and alcohol should be avoided immediately afterwards.

Quality, Origin and Sustainability

BE THE CHANGE processes colostrum from Swiss pasture farming, pays attention to calf protection and short supply chains and produces essential raw materials itself. Manufacturing at the St. Gallen site follows Swissness regulations and strict quality and sustainability requirements; all production steps are transparently documented. The zero-waste packaging concept relies on reusable Miron glass and – depending on the variant – compostable refill pouches for resource-efficient use. This combination of regional sourcing, gentle processing and robust quality standards is aimed at customers who value Swiss made and traceable quality.

Scientifically Based Classification of Ingredients

Review papers on Colostrum describe its composition with immunoglobulins, antimicrobial peptides and growth factors and discuss application areas from gut to immune support, while simultaneously emphasising research needs and product variability. For Lactoferrin, antiviral, antimicrobial and immunomodulatory mechanisms are described, such as binding to viral or cell surfaces as well as antioxidative effects; however, the clinical data situation varies depending on indication. Astaxanthin is linked in preclinical studies to the protection of mitochondria, stabilisation of membrane potentials and reduction of ROS, which underlines its role as a membrane-active antioxidant. This evidence base supports the practical benefit of the combination without making specific health claims, and thus fits with responsible use in sporting activities.
