MILLE GT Men's Ultraz Winter Jacket S11 EVO
This winter jacket from Assos is built for rides in extreme rain and bitter cold, when everyone else has long since stayed home. The EVO version of the Ultraz S11 is warmer than its predecessor and allows noticeably more freedom of movement at the chest, neck, and arms. Despite its high level of protection, the cut remains slim, with no excess material at the shoulders or collar.
Technical Details and Features
At its core is a twinDeck construction made from AIRBLOCK-EVO.888, a storm-resistant softshell combined with the HEATER inner lining. The sleeves use the CORE Medium textile, which combines a thermal layer with a 3-layer softshell. This material ranks among the warmest in the CORE softshell family. The breathable membrane and water-repellent ECO finish provide additional protection for a soft insulating layer. The back and underarm areas are made from RX EVO Plus panels. These panels enhance breathability and elasticity, while their thermal properties and water-repellent treatment help preserve dry warmth.
The regularFit cut is close to the body and minimizes seams, reducing friction at pressure points. Reflective stripes on the pockets and logos improve visibility in dim light and overcast conditions. The three pockets feature flexible fabric panels that secure their contents and shield them from moisture. In lab testing, the jacket scores five out of five possible points for insulation and three out of five points for water protection, with a regular fit.
Areas of Use and Benefits
For long winter training rides across the Swiss lowlands or in the pre-Alps, this jacket offers protection when rain and cold hit at the same time. The combination of AIRBLOCK-EVO.888 and HEATER keeps your upper body dry and warm, while the CORE Medium sleeves stay flexible, even after several hours in the saddle. The reflective elements on the pockets and logo prove their worth once your ride stretches into dusk, such as on the shorter days of November or December. Thanks to its close-fitting cut, the jacket also stays comfortable to wear on climbs or when reaching into a pocket mid-ride.

"The breathability is outstanding, rated at 27,000 g/m2/24H, while the waterproofing is more than capable of fending off showers.','context':'Performance"
Cycling Weekly rates the Assos Mille GT Ultraz Winter Jacket Evo as a top-quality winter jacket with a great fit, very high warmth, and outstanding breathability. The clever double sleeve design works well with gloves, but the jacket is very expensive and lacks a zipped pocket.
"The Assos Mille GT Ultraz Winter Jacket offers fabulous cold weather performance, requiring very little to be worn underneath, with the inner being exceptionally soft.','context':'Verdict"
The reviewer finds the Assos Mille GT Ultraz Winter Jacket excellent in cold weather, praising its insulation, soft RX inner fabric, comfortable fit and temperature regulation. The attached snood is considered somewhat annoying when unworn, and the £260 price is high, but the reviewer considers it worth the money for winter riding.
